STELLA MCCARTNEY HELD A FEST TUESDAY NIGHT IN L.A WITH PAUL AND RINGO

Stella McCartney held an epic, music-filled fun fest Tuesday night in Hollywood with a performance by none other than dad Paul (who joined Dr. Pepper’s Jaded Hearts Club Band onstage for a banging rendition of “Helter Skelter”).

Held at the iconic SIR (Studio Instrument Rentals) Studios in Hollywood, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, the event was a celebration of the fashion designer’s men’s and women’s autumn/winter 2018 collections, that had models dancing onstage and rocking out to performers Leon Bridges, St. Vincent, Beck, Grimes and more.

The crowd was art, fashion, Hollywood and music world heavy. Paul greeted Ringo with a hearty hug. Kiernan Shipka and Selma Blair, twinning in African print dresses and platform brogues from the designer’s spring collection, were all smiles near the neon “Stella” letters that greeted guests at the entrance, while stylist Karla Welch took in the timely Time’s Up neon sign with Amy Poehler down the hall.

David Hockney was roaming the neon-filled rooms with stylist George Blodwell (the stripe-loving Brit-Cal artist whose blockbuster retrospective is coming to L.A. next year has known Stella since she was a girl, he said), and TV writer Maria Bell was decked out in Stella’s latest collection pieces designed in collaboration with one of her favorite artists, Urs Fischer.

At the power table to the left of the stage, Stella held court with her dad, Ringo, David Lynch, Hockney and more,she was as excited as anyone else to see the rock n’ roll legends in the room, darting away to say hello to one of her faves. “The thing is, I’m so comfortable in a rock n’ roll environment, possibly more comfortable than in a fashion environment, that when I see the guitarist for the Foo Fighters I’m like, ah!,” she said. “I love his name is Pat Smear. I’m like, I get it! I know what you’re doing.”“For us, any historical music location in L.A. is somewhere we feel very at home,” she said, adding, “And all my friends seem to have moved here.” (Two years ago, the designer hosted a collection preview and party at Amoeba Records in Hollywood.)

On the Time’s Up initiative, the famously animal rights and sustainability-minded designer said, “Equality is such a big thing for me, and finding courage for men and women to be equal. Next is the fashion industry, we are all in this together.”
In the back room lined with glass cases full of hot guitars and horns, Stella showed her men’s and women’s collections on groups of models, while stars sipped “Paul McCartney’s favorite margaritas” (made with Casa Dragones tequila). Katy Perry posed with silver-haired model (and mother of Elon) Maye Musk, while stylist Jeanne Yang admired the white Stella leisure suit worn by BORNS. “He’s like the next David Bowie,” she said of the 26-year-old pop singer’s style.

Among the collection’s ath-boudoir fashion hits were Adidas Originals sports jerseys rendered in black lace, lacy slip dresses and party-ready jumpsuits, fugly Dad sneakers (they are all the rage) and a clutch with the cheeky slogan, “No Smile, No Service.” The women’s collection will be in stores in May, with the men’s following in June. Beck took the stage a little after 11 p.m. with the Compton Kidz Club choir, leading them in a rendition of “Like A Ship Without A Sail,” before moving into a song for Stella. “Let’s pretend it’s her prom,” he joked, crooning, “I Only Have Eyes For You.” Indeed.

 


PAUL, NANCY AND STELLA ATTEND CONCERT ABOARD YACHT IN St. BARTS

Paul recently jetted off to the balmy climes of the Caribbean to see in the New Year with his wife, children and grandchildren.
Paul was spotted attending a Jimmy Buffet concert aboard a luxury yacht off the shores of Saint Barthélemy with his daughter Stella and Nancy, on Wednesday night.

A source told MailOnline that he was due to take to the stage and perform for the well-heeled crowd, but eventually changed his mind.
They were in good company as they partied the night away on the yacht, joining the likes of Rupert Murdoch’s ex-wife Wendi Deng, 49, and her 21-year-old boyfriend Bertold Zahoran.

Earlier in the day, Paul was spotted enjoying the French-Caribbean island just three months since Hurricane Irma threatened to destroy the popular holiday haven.
Paul and Nancy have been holidaying at the island’s Eden Rock Hotel & Villas, a luxury resort owned by the parents of Made in Chelsea star Spencer Matthews and his brother, Pippa Middleton’s husband James.

Ahead of the UN Climate Change Conference (COP 23) next week, the McCartney family has released a Meat Free Monday documentary short called ‘One Day a Week’ about the huge contributor to climate change that is often left out of conference discussions – animal agriculture.

Featuring Paul, Mary and Stella McCartney, Woody Harrelson and Emma Stone, ‘One Day a Week’ uses breathtaking aerial photography and hard-hitting facts to highlight the damaging environmental impact of animal agriculture and encourage people to help.

“There’s a simple but significant way to help protect the planet and all its inhabitants,” says Paul McCartney to camera. “And it starts with just one day a week. One day without eating animal products can have a huge impact in helping maintain that delicate balance that sustains us all.”

STELLA MCCARTNEY RTW SPRING 2018

“Women Power Love” is Stella’s new slogan, she designed an exclusive T-shirt.

For spring, Stella developed her signatures with a focus on volume and new takes on Skin-Free-Skin.

After a fabulous outing for fall in which Stella delivered a deliberate message of optimism and women’s empowerment, spring found her in a more subdued state of mind — at least, as telegraphed by her clothes. Here Stella’s seemed content to offer a straightforward series of wardrobe suggestions. “Exploring classic tailoring and signature silhouettes…A joyful exploration of British style,” she wrote in her program notes. This resulted in a lineup of fine clothes.

When Stella translated the unfettered silhouette into evening, it worked beautifully, her one-shouldered, ruffled red sack dress a glam charmer. A shapely “debutante” dress with puffed sleeves and peplum recalled the Eighties with excessive gusto.  As for the tailoring, it looked appealing and, as per the show notes, “timeless”.


ALICIA KEYS TEAMS WITH STELLA FOR PHOTOSHOOT TO SUPPORT WOMEN’s HEALTH AWARENESS

Alicia Keys,the singer, 36, teamed up with designer Stella McCartney whose lingerie line will donate proceeds to a breast examination center.  ‘Breast cancer affects us all, and that’s why I’m joining my sister @stellamccartney in starting a conversation and encouraging every woman to go get checked’.”I’ve never really shared this but my mother is a breast cancer survivor,’ said. ‘I’m showing my support by wearing Stella’s beautiful Ophelia Whistling lingerie set. A percentage of all proceeds are donated to the Memorial Sloan Kettering Breast Examination Center in Harlem.’

Alicia and Stella also made a video posted to Youtube to spread their message. ‘Every 19 seconds a woman around the world is diagnosed with breast cancer,’ Stella opens the black and white video.

Stella continued to speak as she revealed she lost her mother – Linda McCartney, married to Paul McCartney – to breast cancer when she was 19-years-old.

Alicia added: ‘We are here to start a conversation and break the taboos and to encourage everybody to go get checked.’ The lovely ladies smile and laugh as they share a hug to end the video.

 

 


STELLA HAS SECURED A LICENSE WITH ISA SPA

Stella has secured a license with ISA Spa, which will see the firm create, produce and distribute underwear and swimwear collections in keeping with Stella’s eponymous brand’s ethics.

And the creative mastermind is excited by the partnership because she has always loved the products, and she hopes her customers will also enjoy wearing her garments, which will leave them feeling “confident and comfortable”.

Speaking about her partnership and the upcoming capsules, the mogul said: “Lingerie has been a personal obsession of mine for a long time and I have always been inspired by it. While for swimwear I want to encourage women to feel confident and comfortable about themselves and in what they are wearing.” And Stella believes the additional products that her eponymous brand will be launching next year marks an “important new chapter” for her fashion house. She continued: “This is an important new chapter for us at Stella McCartney and I feel that we have found the perfect partner for us, who really understands our brand and will bring together quality, ability and a high level of commitment to take us to this next chapter.”
Speaking about the joint venture, the chief executive office of ISA Spa, Mila Zegna, said: “Our mission is to support the brand DNA, core values and social responsibility beliefs thanks to a team that leverages our product know-how, luxury market knowledge and a dedicated sales strategy.”

However, this is not the first time Stella has released a lingerie line as in 2008 she launched a range of undergarments, which developed into a sleepwear range, and included a double mastectomy post-operative bra, as well as a limited edition set to raise awareness for Breast Cancer, which was followed by a beachwear range eight years later.
