ON THIS DAY: 20 June,1986: the Prince’s Trust Concert was held at Wembley Arena London.
This event saw performances from a who’s who of music,including Paul McCartney, Bryan Adams, Joan Armatrading ,Big Country , David Bowie, Eric Clapton, Phil Collins, Ray Cooper ,Mick Jagger ,Elton John ,Howard Jones, Mark Knopfler & John Illsley (Dire Straits) Level 42 ,George Michael ,Francis Rossi & Rick Parfitt (Status Quo) Rod Stewart, Sting, Tina Turner, Midge Ure, Suzanne Vega ,Paul Young.
Paul closed the show with a rousing version of ‘Get Back’, as well as performing ‘Long Tall Sally’ and ‘I Saw Her Standing There’.
