Paul McCartney and Nancy Shevell, wear face masks and cover up as they go shopping near their US home, in the Hamptons amid COVID-19 pandemic,last week.

Paul wore purple latex gloves and a construction site-style face mask, shaded himself from the sun in a light blue baseball cap. Nancy also wore gloves and a mask, but opted for a more basic face covering in a grey fabric.

Paul, who turns 78 on Thursday, recently said he will start celebrating birthdays again only when the world stops harming animals. He has also asked fans to ditch meat for the occasion.
