After 19 weeks of closed venues and cancelled tours due to the Coronavirus pandemic, Cavern City Tours is happy to announce the reopening of The Cavern Pub and Festival Restaurant doors from 1st August. The Cavern’s on-line shop will also be back in operation from this date with Cavern merchandise available to purchase once again from its website Cavernclub.com
Business as usual? Well, not quite! Like many other businesses, the Cavern has had to make some changes to the way it operates to ensure the safety of its staff and customers. Government and health guidelines have been followed to formulate plans to enable reopening. Visitors should access the ‘Know before you go’ section on the website www.cavernclub.com to read about what they can expect before visiting the two venues.
Cavern director Bill Heckle says “We are looking forward to welcoming customers back to some of our venues. Things look a little different in the world at the moment but we’re confident that The Cavern venues that are reopening will still provide the great atmosphere that they are renown for, even with social distancing measures in place.”
The Cavern Pub and Festival restaurant will initially open Friday to Sunday with a view to increasing trading hours. While the iconic Cavern Club and popular Beatles sight-seeing Magical Mystery Tour remain closed, work is taking place to enable reopening both very soon and further announcements will be made with details. However, customers of The Cavern Pub and Festival restaurant will be offered the exclusive opportunity to see the world famous Cavern Club as part of their visit by joining a Cavern tour, adapted to ensure social distancing. Guided tours operating between 2pm and 6pm from Friday to Sunday, will provide a unique viewpoint of the live music venue which is synonymous with the Beatles and a huge part of Liverpool’s music heritage.
As live music is still yet to return to indoor venues, the guided tours are an opportunity to see the Cavern in a new way, discovering the past and present of this working club set in the heart of Liverpool.
“Closing our doors and tours on 18th March was heartbreaking. We thank all of our staff and customers for patiently waiting for us, and now it’s time to get the Cavern back to where it’s always belonged.”
Thanks and we look forward to welcoming you all back,
The Cavern Directors
