Twenty-four years. That’s how long Syracuse waited for Paul to “get back to where he once belonged,” after postponing his Carrier Dome concert in 1993. Tens of thousands of longtime fans will fill the Dome this Saturday, along with many working musicians from across New York.
To welcome McCartney, several Syracuse musicians teamed up to perform “Get Back” on the roof of syracuse.com’s downtown newsroom, as a tribute to The Beatles’ famous 1969 rooftop concert.
Hundreds of tickets went on sale on Thursday afternoon for Paul McCartney’s concert at the Carrier Dome.
The show takes place at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 23 and it’s expected to run about three hours. There is no opener.
At least 34,900 tickets have already been sold for the long-awaited show.
